David Randall just happened through my part of Pennsylvania all the way from his home in Virginia Beach. Driving his bagged Lexus GS300 on Weds Kranze wheels 5+ hours one way to pick up a beautiful Shiba Inu puppy. Probably to quell his girlfriends dissatisfaction that comes with dating someone who makes cars more than just a hobby, but a lifestyle.
You know when you meet another person who does this not because the internet says so or to gain fame but this is how we are built. That we don’t make excuses of why we need to sell our project car but instead learn how to make our lives work around what we consider our passion. Some people give up when something goes wrong. People who find excuses to “get out of the car game” whether it be because of making little money, a kid on the way, expensive girlfriend/boyfriend, “growing up”, or whatever ever else they can constitute the decision to quit.
David is definitely one of those guys that make this scene feel more like a family than a popularity contest. In anything you will do you will find people who try to ruin the things you enjoy by being selfish shit heads but on the other end of the spectrum there are people who make this all worth and make you feel proud to be a part of a group of people connected all over the world by what we pour our hearts into. It was a great pleasure to hang out with him even just for a couple hours while he passed through town.
One of the biggest reasons I love the car community that I’m apart of is knowing that no matter where I am on the east coast I have friends and at the very least a roof to rest my head for the night. I hope that everyone knows that they can expect the same from me, always.
See you again soon.
